Do you like Google Scholar? (Go on, be honest!) Do you know you can programme it so it picks up what is available to you in full text and flags it up? To do this go to Scholar Preferences > Library Links. From here, enter ‘ Glamorgan’ in the ‘Find Library’ box and then select University of Glamorgan as a preference. Or you could follow the link below?
http://scholar.google.com/scholar_preferences?hl=en&lr=&output=search
Don’t forget to save your settings or you’ll have to do it again next time you want it! When you do your search you will get the list you would have got anyway and you should see a tag saying FINDit @ Glamorgan against articles available to you in full-text via this route. It works because our new Findit links to SfX (Self eXtracting) technology, so you don’t have to do anything – your machine does it for you once you’ve set it up.
But be warned – you won’t get such good results this way as you will if you know which databases to search & how to search them. And like we always say, log onto Glamlife on your home machine , ‘always ... blah, blah, blah!’ (You can fill in the gaps yourself, can’t you?)
